MIXED PALLET PALLETIZING

JPM Industry, as part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and specifically within the Produtech R3 Agenda, presented an innovative robotic palletizing system for mixed products, known as CrossLog, aimed at the logistics sector in the retail domain, with key participation from Worten and Sonae.

This project results from the collaboration among several entities, including INESC-TEC, SONAE, and WORTEN, all part of WP9 of the Produtech R3 Agenda. During the demonstration, attendees observed how the solution efficiently and automatically manages the sorting, organization, and palletizing of products with varying shapes, weights, and dimensions, thus reducing manual effort and optimizing the supply chain.

Highlights of the presentation included the integration of advanced technologies, such as real-time object recognition, algorithms for generating mixed-product mosaics, and robotic palletization systems—all managed and monitored through a comprehensive platform. This solution not only boosts operational efficiency but also aligns with Industry 4.0 principles.

The event also featured interactive segments, including a Q&A session, providing a platform for discussing the benefits and challenges of implementing this technology. The project’s success is largely credited to strong partnerships with academic institutions like INESC-TEC, which contributed to the development of scheduling systems and the mixed-product mosaic generator.

Through this demonstration, JPM Industry reaffirms its commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in logistics processes, creating new opportunities for collaboration with its partners.
